Spiritual Plan for Hood View
Our Mission: We would like HVAS to be a place where:
1. Students grow in their knowledge of Jesus.
2. Students grow in becoming like Jesus.
3. Students learn how to serve the world for Him.
4. Parents and churches have the opportunity to partner with
teachers in providing spiritual support and strength to students.

c. Weekly Chapels
i. Students gather weekly for chapel where worship through music and inspirational talks take place.
1. Friday Family Worship (FFW): The first Friday of every month, all students meet in the music room for singing and a pastor led worship.
2. Students Worshipping All Together (SWAT, Grades 5-8) and Kids Praise (KP, Preschool-4th): Students meet in small groups on approximately once each month.
3. Family Groups: The 3rd Friday of each month, students meet in the gym with their respective “families” for games and activities revolving around character traits.
4. Teacher to Student Mentoring: Students engage in unplanned and unstructured conversations with teachers where additional mentoring takes place.
3. Students learn how to serve the world for Him.
a. Community Service: “Hood View’s Helping Heart”: Each quarter we will focus on a different group to minister to.
b. SWAT and KP are responsible for one big outing or project per quarter for the indicated group. Family groups will focus on a combination of the designated group and character traits.
4. Parents and churches have the opportunity to partner with teachers in providing spiritual support and strength to students.
a. Prayer time: On the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, a parent leads out in prayer time in the library for the students and the school.
b. Prayer Walk: Before school starts, parents, church members and volunteers will walk the hallways of the school, praying for each classroom, each seat, each locker, each student, each teacher.
c. Churches Adopt a Classroom: To promote the connection between our churches and our classrooms, each church will take on a classroom to pray for and vice versa.
