Janet Blackwood-Knapp brings a deep-rooted connection and a wealth of experience to her role as Executive Administrative Assistant to the Principal at HVAS. As an alumna who spent five years as a student at HVAS, Janet returned to serve her alma mater and is now in her 11th year on staff. At HVAS, she was in the classroom for 7 years and in administration and administrative support for 4 years.
Mrs. Blackwood-Knapp holds a B.A. in Spanish, a B.S. in Elementary Education, an M.A. in TESOL, and an M.S. in International & Comparative Education. This extensive educational background supports her primary goal: guiding students to develop critical thinking skills, a lifelong love of learning, and a heart for service.
For Mrs. Blackwood-Knapp, the most rewarding aspect of Christian education is fostering an environment where students can actively grow in their relationship with Jesus while simultaneously pursuing academic excellence. She finds deep fulfillment in watching students develop into confident, compassionate, and purpose-driven individuals.
Some fun facts about Mrs. Blackwood-Knapp are that she has traveled to six continents, is fluent in Spanish, and is an avid gardener.
