Melissa Leslie

Melissa Leslie has been a dedicated part of the Hood View family for 11 years and is currently celebrating her 9th year as a teacher. Holding a degree in Child Development and Early Education, Melissa is passionate about early childhood development. Her primary goals are to ensure every student feels they belong, to build a solid educational foundation for their future, and to help them grow in their love for Jesus.
Melissa finds the most reward in watching her students blossom, celebrating their excitement as they discover new things, and nurturing their inquisitive nature.
Her path to the classroom was unique. Growing up on a farm in Kansas, Melissa began riding horses as a young girl and dreamed of becoming a horse trainer. After spending her teen and young adult years training horses, she realized God had a different plan. Today, she jokes that she traded the reins for the classroom and is now "training" children instead. When she isn’t teaching, Melissa loves camping, hiking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
